NEW MEXICO ROAD TRIP — Nicolas ARST

After almost 5 years living in the US, New Mexico was the only west state I had not the chance to discover yet. During the national Thanksgiving holiday, my friends and I drove 4 days through the Southwest. From Long Beach, CA, the final destination was Albuquerque, NM. If I enjoyed the famous red rock canyons and other amazing sceneries by the past, New Mexico definitely brought its own level of adventures and surprises. They definitely call this state the "Land of Enchantment" for a reason.

If the first day of our trip was mainly for the drive, we were able to enjoy what New Mexico has to offer starting day 2 of our trip.

White Sands National Monument

275 sq. miles of gypsum dune field. Breathtaking.

Roswell

July 1947, an Unidentified Flying Object crashed in the desert nearby the city of Roswell. If there is not a lot to see in this town (well, almost nothing to see actually), I still enjoyed the mysterious ambiance of this worldwide known place.

Santa Fe

Founded in 1610, Santa Fe is the second-oldest city and the oldest capital state in the US.

Pecos National Historic Park

I am glad to come back from this road trip with an additional perspective of the US. I will always be amazed by the endless landscapes and the diversity that this country has to offer. I feel so lucky to have been able to discover so much this year and my hunger for travel is just starting. What's next?!
