THE EDISON
I moved at The Edison end of March 2019 so about a year ago. Located Downtown Long Beach, this place is actually the first apartment where I lived by myself. With the huge help of my bf, I selected every piece of furniture carefully to build a place I can proudly call mine. I took some cool shots of this apartment the last few months and I wanted to share some of those in this page. Hopefully, you will appreciate them as much as I do :)
Lou Doillon’s Corner
My favorite corner of this apartment is definitely the one showcasing this beautiful vintage credenza. This is an original Broyhill (US company founded in the 1920s) that I found at Urban Americana (@urbanamericana), one of the best place to find vintage Mid-Century furniture in Long Beach (and in the whole LA area if I’m not mistaken). Those pieces are pretty rare so I JUMPED on it when I saw that they received one. This one came from San Diego.
I love every single element in this corner. The mirror is also vintage and comes from another great shop in Long Beach: 6th and Detroit (@6thanddetroit). Located few blocks away from The Edison, I honestly went there at least once a week when I needed to furnish my place the first weeks.
Lou Doillon is a French singer that I really love and I got this poster from her last Los Angeles concert in 2019. I got it framed by this very cool shop in Laguna Beach: The Vintage Poster.
The Working Area
The second part of my place that I really appreciate is based around this marble table. I shopped it at World Market but not sure if this is still available. This place is my everyday working station more than my dining area.
Those blue / grey chairs with oak legs come from BoConcept (@boconcept_socal), a Danish company with amazing selection (well… Danish duh). I found them very comfortable and particularly loved their design.
One of my favorite piece of decor I bought is this wooden map of Long Beach, available in a store downtown. All the interior hanging plants are coming from this cute shop, also downtown, Peacock & Co plants (@peacockandcompany).
The Bar
I’m going to repeat myself a lot but that’s also one of my favorite corner in my apartment. I found those golden shelves at CB2 (probably one of my favorite furniture shop in the US) and thought it could be a great idea to use them for some of my bottles for the Apero. The vintage bar stool is coming from Urban Americana. I love the used look of it with its golden details. It works pretty well with the golden shelves.
I really wanted to have vintage cocktail glasses with gold details and I found mine at Urban Americana as well (this place is truly worth to visit as you can see!). The gold plate is a gift from my bf that he found in a cute furniture store in Palm Springs.
The Rooftop
One of the best commun area of The Edison is its rooftop. On one side, you can enjoy the pool with a great view on Downtown Long Beach (and Downtown Los Angeles on clear days), and on the other side, you have the BBQ area with another amazing view of Downtown Long Beach.
As you can see, I have tried to show only the most interesting part of my place (and of The Edison), not every single room or corner. I am very curious to know what was your the piece of furniture and / or the corner that you like the most. Let me know!
