VALENTINE'S DAY IN COLORADO
Never too late to share some pics of our stay in Colorado for Valentine’s Day. I was looking for some design inspiration for my new place and I remembered the very inspiring pieces I’ve seen in Denver back in February.
We stayed a couple of days at the Crawford Hotel, located in the beautiful Union Station, downtown Denver. Our room was in the corner of the Union Station, right by the Cooper Lounge. This beautiful cocktail bar is located in the mezzanine of the Station.
In no particular order, I really love the marble bar, all of the gold furnitures (including this flower vase and those lamps) as well as the walnut details. At night, the bar become more animated and it’s a perfect spot for a first drink before going out.
Talking about going out for Valentine’s Day, we had diner at one of the most famous Italian Restaurant in Denver, Tavernetta. If you are in Denver, do yourself a favor and try this awesome place.
After a couple of days in Denver, we made our way to Roxborough State Park (south-east of Denver).
I was very surprised with the red color of the rocks that reminded me all of the Canyons in Utah. The hikes are amazing and the houses built in the rock made me think about what I’ve seen in New Mexico a couple of years ago. Next time, I really want to go see a concert @ the Red Rocks Amphitheater. It’s close by.
We went higher in altitude for the 3rd part of our trip: Winter Park! First time skiing in the US for me (yes, even after 7 years living here, better late than never…) and it was an awesome experience.
This station is more affordable than its counterpart Aspen or Vail and surprisingly, it was not crowded at all. We had a great weather for the most part of the day and one of the highlight was our break watching Parsenn Bowl @ 12,060 feet (3,676m).
We are approaching the warmer days now so our Colorado getaway might not be inspiring for an immediate trip. I’m sure the places I’ve mentioned in this article are as beautiful in spring / summer vs. winter though!
